Changing Goals

Late in 2020, I realized that over the months of pandemic, my activity level had been slowly decreasing – in spite of taking a lunch-time walk each work day, as was my habit while working in the office. I decided that I needed to get my daily steps back to at least as high as prior to to working at home.

By the end of 2020, this meant that my average daily steps was approaching 10k – and in early 2021 I decided that I should make that my new goal. I maintained that 10k average throughout 2021 and 2022.

In late 2022, I decided that I should add some variety to the plan – so got a rowing machine. I’m enjoying the new exercise, so plan on giving it extra focus in the coming year. I’m not sure what the new goal will be – but I’m willing to let the 10k go in favour of more rowing time. I do plan on keeping my minimum 6k/day streak going, but the rest is unclear – probably something based on Apple’s “Move” score.

Let’s see what happens!
