Quirky Backyard View
Not a classically well-formed photo, but good to capture our fabulous backyard every now and then.
-
Aspen
The combination of the brightly coloured undergrowth and the white of the aspen tree trunks always catches my eye.
-
Buckeye
The buckeye continues to provide interest – so happy we picked this tree.

Half Squirrel, Half Spider
I really don’t know what they expect to find. This guy was on the neighbours’ house, but I hear them climbing on our house sometimes too.
-
Oranges, Yellows, Reds
Such a fun chaos of colours – so many plants still happily green – so many others ready to call it a year.
-
More Colours
I could take pictures of the mix of colours and textures in the forest every day. Oh wait – I do.
-
Bright Colours
The undergrowth in the forest is putting on a great show. I’ve never been good at recognizing poison ivy, but I believe that a significant portion of the pretty plants are, in fact, poison ivy.
-
Rare Visitor
Probably mostly because the feeder isn’t available to him. Always a welcome sight, though.
-
Autumn Gold
’tis the season for goldenrod in the forest. I’ve come to appreciate goldenrod more and more – we got some this year to grow in the yard – hopefully it gets going.

Unstoppable
Our hydrangea right in front of the front step – it took a beating from the rabbits this past winter and needed to be trimmed back quite a bit. Nevertheless, it is putting on a great show.
