The forest trails have been plowed, so walking is easier again.
The forest has lots of these guys – not sure if they are downy or hairy woodpeckers. I think that they might like all the dead trees from the years where there was too much standing water in the forest.
They do enjoy the winter crabapples.
Winter snow is here and so are the neighbourhood deer.
It has been a bit of a strange Fall, weatherwise.

Lots of milkweed seed pods cracking open these days. Good news for the butterflies.
